Rasl v2: #6

The Fire of St. George
by Jeff Smith

Chapter 6 - The Mad Scientist

Three-quarters of this chapter is a history lesson on Nikolai Tesla and electricity. There's a little bit of story interspersed with the history. It's hard to say at this point how important Tesla is to the main storyline but presumably it is either integral to the story or vital background information.

Silly me - I hadn't even noticed Jeff Smith had a new series out. I'll have to check it out at some point.

Also, it's slightly amazing how much Tesla comes up in popular culture. Having checked the phenomenon has, of course, a Wikipedia page. I'm not sure whether I should be okay with that or feel that it has become a lazy cliche.

I've only read a limited amount of Rasl and Bone but I think it is fair to say that they are very different sorts of stories. Rasl is much more of a puzzle than Bone is.
